Does linux support packet writing(CD-RW)?? Win2K doesn't, and that is really the only thing that I have win98 hanging around for. If linux will do packet writing, I will probably get rid of Win98 altogether.

win2k will do packet writing (depends on the software you use) but the only product i know designed to do that is EzCD Creator, which doesn't work worth a damn under win2k
if/when adaptec releases a new non IE based version you'll have packet writing back in full

Sounds good. I have pretty much decided that Win98SE is down the tubes on my next reformat/reinstall. I downloaded Mandrake 7.2 yesterday, so I will probably just do a dual boot with Mandrake 7.2 and win2K. I can live without packet writing for a while. I just got fifty 80 min CD-R's for 29CND, which is like $18US. I will just burn backups.
