Went and installed LM8 on my BP6 also, hope to figure out how to connect my 2 linux boxen together latter on.
All seems to work ok, even installed the nvidia drivers for my old ASUS 6800 GF DDR/Quadro without a hitch.
Heres my questions:
1: When I first boot up i get a message saying "unknown bridge, assume transparent" it then continues to boot up. What is that?
2: About 50/50 when it gets to the graphic part of lilo and it is jumping thruogh harddrak and kde, etc... I get a duplicate icon of what every it is currently on (harddrake, etc...) in the bottom left corner and a frowny face under the center screen emblem?? I'm guesing something didnt load right??
3: Under the KDE device manager it list the HPT366 hdd controllers and has a ? over them, I'll assume it doesnt know what the hpt366 is. Where do I get drivers for it and if it doesnt now what it is I'll assume that I'm not running my hdd at the ata66 spec??
Everything seems to work and I dont get any crazy lockups, so I dont know if those errors even anything? |

I have a BP6 also and I too get the "unknown bridge" message. I think Abit got fancy with the SMP on the BP6 so Linux doesn't recognize it but falls to some sort of default which works great. The Frowny Face indicates something didn't load right or experienced an error on boot up. Change from the Aurora boot screen to one of the more verbose boot screens so you can see what's causing the problem.
The HPT366 controller is full supported by the kernel and unless it is a module the kernel has the driver built in. The rest of the stuff I would worry about especially since your PC is running fine.

Would that affect it Brain? I've always run 1.4 ,but maybe that would fix some other problems I'm having, like my AGP slot won't run high-end games using AGP 2X and I have to use Power Strip to set it to 1X.??
