Does anyone have any experience with this. I currently have a multi boot setup with Win2K, Win98SE, and linux. I rarely use anything except Win2K, and because I was an idiot when I did all the installs, I have Win2K pretty much in the middle of my hard drive. We all know that the closer to the edge of the HD, the faster it is. I would like to put Win2K on my primary partition, and then Win98SE & Linux. Is this possible? I have always heard that Win9X has to be on the primary partition, but I have also heard of people that don't put it there.

are you using more than one hard disk ?

if so you can do what i do

i created a 200 meg partition at the beginning of my 2nd hard disk JUST for the swap file of win2k then before i moved the swap file over i scandisk/defragged the hell out of it, and made it NTFS 5.0. this means you have a swap file on an entirely diffrent drive, with no other data to fragment it, or crowd it and as long as there is nothing else sharing that ide cable you have the fastest swap file you can get without going to SCSI or raid, or both

After you do all of that, then go into the advanced tab (rt click on my computer, choose properties.. advanced is the furthest right tab), and move the swap file there, and do a quick reboot

and BTW... NO win ME does not have to be on the primary partition

There is NO spoon !

Cool, thanks. I'll play around with it if I ever get some time to.
