|
I've got 4 computers on my home network:
1) Win 2000 server (running as a file/print server)
2) Win XP/Win 98SE dual-boot machine (my main PC)
3) Win 98 SE machine (my "spare" PC)
4) Win 98 SE machine (the wife's computer).
I've got the 2k server set up in a workgroup (not a domain), and I've created user accounts on it to match the user names & passwords for all of the other boxes. Then I set up share permissions based on those accounts.
Now, on my XP/98 box (in either OS), I can see the 2k server (and the shares). On my wife's 98 box, I can also see the 2k server/shares just fine.
The thing that's wierd, is I cannot see the server (or it's shares) from the other (spare) 98 box. I've made sure that I've got the correct login ID and that the network card is working (I know it works, as that computer still has access to the internet like the rest of the network).
Stranger still, when I look at the Network Neighborhood on that 98 box, I can see two computers - the one I'm on (my spare), and the wife's 98 box.
But not the server, and not the XP/98 box (which does have shares set up).
What am I missing? Any ideas/suggestions? |
