I got WinME and Win2k setup for dual boot. Does anyone know how to configure boot.ini so that WinME is the default OS. I'm tired of rebooting and finding myself in Win2k when I meant to be in ME. I want it like this until I have time to get my Win2k setup complete. Thanks folks.

first boot into win2k

:-D then goto system properties, and click on the advanced tab.
Very Happy click on startup and recovery
Very Happy then simply select your default opperating system. I'm pretty sure that's the way to do it.

Yep, Starsky has it right, just follow his directions and all should be well.

that's the easy way to do it

or you can edit all the crap in your boot.ini file manually:
Quote:
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Win 2k Pro" /fastdetect
CUndecided = "Wind-Blows ME"
C:\BeOS.bs="BeOS 5.x"

Change that, into THIS

Quote:
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=CUndecided
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Win 2k Pro" /fastdetect
CUndecided = "Wind-Blows ME"
C:\BeOS.bs="BeOS 5.x"

you don't need that BeOS line that's just for me, and a few other special people around here [Very Happy]
