One of those new AYHJA 1333Mhz chips, along with an Iwill KK266, has been ordered as a replacement for this trusty old Celeron/BH6 combo ... I'm feeling rot col ... if you know what I mean ...

We get all our stuff from a reputable source ... it cost us a little more ... but we've never had a problem with the place we deal with ... we've always got exacty what we've ordered and it's always been delivered on time ...

I'd love to shop at pcnut. They are very good(so I hear), except that they won't ship to Canada[Sad]. It's tough to find an online dealer that: 1)Ships exactly what is ordered, 2)Ships internationally, and 3)Doesn't rape me on the shipping. [RANT]I have bought CPU's off of ebay before, and somehow those American people can send me a CPU via UPS for $10-15USD. There are dealers in the states that ship via UPS, and charge $25-35USD for the shipping!! How does that work?? Me thinks there is a little profit padding in the shipping price. With the exchange rate so shitty, $30USD for the shipping, means that I have to add $50CDN to the final price.[/RANT]

A lot of these online vendors make very little on the products they sell. Really. Services like http://www.pricewatch.com will show you the lowest prices of vendors who pay them $700 - $800/month to go through their site and list there product prices. They charge $X for shipping and handling and make a few bucks on that. Some vendors even act as simple middlemen between the customer and manufacturer and have the stuff shipped directly to you from the manufacturer. You never even know this is happening.

Hummer I personally shipped an IBM Deskstar hard drive to Canada for one of our contest winners through regular US mail and guess how much it cost? That was a box, drive, insurance and padding.

You know what really hurts about that?? I know the lucky SOB that won the drive, and his wife had just given him the exact same drive for his b-day. I'm thinking 60GB of sweet striped RAID action. I wasn't thinking that at all, and sold the damn thing!!

I know that UPS kills me too. What really pisses me off is that they act as a broker to get the package across the border, which means they pay the GST(Tax), and then I pay them back(on top of their service fee). The thing that gets me here, is that because they paid the GST acting as a broker, that is a service, so I have to pay them GST on the GST that I reimburse them. I pay double tax in a sense. Shipping pisses me off. The problem is though, that local stores here are often pretty slow getting in the latest and greatest(not that I can usually afford the latest and greatest). What can ya do??
