I'm actually thinking about getting the F-250 w/ the diesel for my next truck. I like the power of the diesels. If not that, then an Expedition.

Definately the diesel. My brother has a 2001 F-250 with the diesel, and my dad has a 2003 F-250 with the 5.4L V8 (Both Standards, both 4x4's). I've driven them both quite a bit, and diesel is much nicer to drive.

Of course that's complete propaganda considering how I get 18mpg. You honestly think that the Dodge isn't a gas hog? And, my Explorer which I like very much, is certainly not useless. I wonder what piece of shit you drive? The fact that you haven't posted a picture tells me a lot.

Wait, you have a 'vette, right? A Chevette.

Lets see, I recently bought. last week actually, a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab short bed 2wd with a 5.3 liter V8 that produces 270hp and 315 ft-lbs of torque. I'm going to use it strictly for towing my mowers around for my summer job, seeing as it gets 15/18 mpg. I'll drive my car around everywhere else since its a more comfortable ride and gets about 24mpg.

If gas wasn't so expensive, and if I didn't like my car so much, I probably would have traded in my car for the truck. But seeing how many yards I have to mow this summer and how much I'm charging for them, I can safely justify owning 2 cars.

If I mow yards during the spring untill I graduate Highschool, next year, and Mow every summer during high school and college, I'll be able to make a nice chunk of money so that I can sell both my cars after college, get a new coupe, and still be able to afford a decent house.

Got to plan for your future you know. I'll have this job for the money, the job at Steak 'N Shake for in your hand cash, and then the job at Cisco for hands on experience.

This way I can retire when I'm about 50, travel around the would squandering my savings leaving nothing for my descendents. And die of a heart attack when I'm 60 hopefully banging some 20 year old chick.

Of course if all of this falls thru, I can always learn Portuguese and move to Rio and become a street thug. Laughing

Christ!! Why are you always so aggressive / antogonistic?? He didn't insult you, your truck, or your country. All he said was he liked the dodge better.

Need I say more?

Actually, I will. Like you always do, you only quote PART of what was said. Why did you leave out the insulting part that I quoted above? I wouldn't have a problem with saying he liked he Dodge better but he's commenting directly on my vehicle, something I pay a pretty penny for and am proud to own. Not only commenting, but insulting.

Talk about antagonistic............ Rolling Eyes

Actually my comment is more pointed to SUV's in general being useless and gas hogs, I believe the Ford Expedition is one of the worst. When you look at most of the buyers of SUV's they should instead be using a station wagon or a minivan, both much more effiecient and safer than SUV's. How many people that actually have SUV's use them to tow or go offroad? (if you do, then ok, thats fine, otherwise, why have a SUV???) 18mpg really sucks compared to all the nice efficient cars that are coming out able to get upwards of 30mpg. And I'll admit that Dodge probably isn't much better on gas. Theres a lot of things I don't like about Fords. I hope the newer ones are better, but according to crash tests 2 years ago, Ford pickup trucks were the most dangerous truck to be driving. This was based on an offset front collision, on a whole, foreign vehicles did better than American ones.

Actually, I have to admit I currently have a 94 Ford Ranger, sorry I don't have a picture, its a 5 speed standard, 4x4, reg. cab with extended bed and a cap. I bought it used 2 years ago after a really dumb idiot totalled the 93 Dodge Grand Caravan my mom passed down to me. Theres many many things about the Ford I have grown to hate Mad , I highly doubt I would get another. I only got the Ford because I needed something quick and it fit all the requirements I wanted (low price and cargo space, if a truck, 4x4 and a cap). If I could have, I would have gotten another Caravan, but couldn't find one quick enuf. I need the cargo space to haul around all the crap I have and frequently use the space to lug all sorts of other people stuff. Honestly, I'd love to have a small very efficient (possibly electric or hybrid) car to do most things with, and only drive the truck when I really need the cargo space.

Great. You win. I lose. I don't know anything about cars. End of discussion.

HAHA Laughing
Thats ok, I'm just really anti-SUV. And recently very anti-stupid drivers!!! grrr!

I really like these:

My summer camp has a 1954 Powerwagon that I get to drive in the summers. Its a lots of fun Very Happy Just about everything thats new these days looks funny, silly, or dumb. Even ALL the newer trucks have silly looking grills.
Just my opinion though.. Rolling Eyes

Well, at least you can give HR some credit, he has GoodYear tires and not Firestoners, if he had Firestoners, he wouldn't own an Explorer, but an Exploder.
