Ok i swear this isnt possible and i need someone to agree with me so I can prove someone wrong. Ok he says that if the other side is fast (which is correct) and you have 4 wiere instead of 2 wire phone cable(is there such a thing as 2 wire phone cable?) That you can get a 56k up to 100kb/s and I call bs..the modem it self is not physically capable of doing it. It might say it is but i call bs ..just someone tlel me if its possible or not[/b] |

You would need two modems, two phone lines and a ISP that will allow two connections at the same time. I think it is called "shotgunning".
With one modem and one phone line, no it is not possible. |

A 56K modem is actually capable of receiving more than 56 kilobits of data per second. This is usually implemented via data compression (v.42bis and/or MNP5). That being said, Diamond (Supra) offered a modem that had two ports for connecting to an ISP that supported multi-link over dialup.
