I have had a Delta 7000RPM 38CFM 60mm fan for a while now, I just haven't been using it. Tonight I actually used the fan and took some before and after temps. I use an Alpha PAL6035 heatsink on my T-Bird 1GHz@1.2Ghz. Before and after temps were taken after playing Deus Ex for a half hour with SETI running. With the original Sunon fan on, full load temps were at 41C. With the Delta fan they dropped to 37C. Gotta love a 4 degree drop just by switching the fan.
I didn't take any idle temps. I figure if you are seeing your processor at idle temps, you aren't crunching enough SETI units!!Get Crunching!!!! |

I didn't find it to be all that loud. I have a 92mm intake fan, an 80mm exhaust fan, the power supply fan, and a blorb. From everyones description I was explecting a huge difference, but it wasn't too bad. I haven't really tried with the case open though. It's been so long since I had side panels on my computer I barely recognize it. |
