Hey! The main reason I came in is that you folks made the front page of MadOnion with the Mandrake article. I've also spread the word about your w2k boot screen article which is the best I've seen on the net.

I'm posting this quickie in Video because I got my VisionTek GF3 today. Nice card Cool Smile I needed a new chunk of hardware to play with and when I saw it for $350 I just couldn't keep from snagging it.

It's really a pretty boring read thread wise but the screens are nice (IMHO). If you want to make comments there you don't have to register. You can make comments here too as I know your board loyal, and rightfully so. However, if you'd like a screenshot I feel obligated to post there because I'm using the site owners webspace to host and it wouldn't be fair to him.... I'll pop back in tomorrow evening as I'm pretty tired and have business in the morning/afternoon.

Anyway, the main point. CONGRAT'S on making the front page of MadOnion!!!

$350 is good deal considering that I have seen GeForce 3's for as much as $500. Still too expensive for my tastes.

my ultra was under warranty and died,.it ended up costing me 29 bux and a dead ultra for my gf3 Smile see?

A GFII MX is a great card. It will give you a great deal of performance until the GF3 becomes affordable.

If I didn't already have a GF2, I'd look into one of those ... as it is, I see no need to get one ... I can't think of any programs that run significantly faster on a GF3 ...

The problem with the GF3 is that it has so much damn horse power the fastest chips out only start to tax the vid card when running super high resolutions with maxed out detail. So if you like to play games at 1600x1200 32bpp and maximum detail then yes get the GF3 otherwise stick with a GF2.
