heh well i decided to upgrade my perfectly fine ezcd4 to 5platinium.. on a winME box, as i heard bout the problems with it and win2k... and it was a disaster.. never would finish a burn, always bluescreens.. and dont know if its related but after the install and even "uninstall", my system about 10seconds slower, which was quite annoying heh.. well take it for what its worth, jus thought id share..

Clean install of win2k. had 4.0 in.. and after one of their updates (4.5??) it stopped working. sometimes would not launch, hardly ever finished a burn, and the occasional blue screen.

5.0 was released... and runs better then ever. it this just my luck???? or does anyone else share my joy of a well working product?

did you let EZ CD5's default setup do a full install . . . or did you just install the parts you needed ?

I prefer CDR-Win myself . . but i'd have to agree with Neo's concept

no matter which specific program you go for, avoid Ez CD 4 or 5

Someone sent me this link to let me know about ANOTHER problem with ez cd 4

http://developer.intel.com/support/chipsets/storagedrivers/ultraATA/tti007.htm

Quote:
Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver
Adaptec* Easy CD Creator* Notification

When installing the Intel® Ultra ATA Storage Driver after Easy CD Creator* version 4.02c_s10 on systems with Windows* 2000 installed, the system will fail to complete installation of the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver resulting in a blue screen error. Following this condition, the system will not be bootable and will report an 'Inaccessible Boot Device' error at each subsequent reboot.

Resolution
This issue can be prevented by first upgrading to version 4.02e (or newer version) of Easy CD Creator before installing the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver. Version 4.02e of Easy CD Creator can be obtained from the following Roxio* (now a subsidiary of Adaptec,* Inc.) website: http://www.roxio.com

After extensive investigation with Roxio of the 'Inaccessible Boot Device' error message, we have found that the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver is not the root cause of these incompatibilities. However, Intel is continuing to work with Roxio to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Please visit Roxio's website for future updates and/or workarounds.

I think that maybe the people at Roxio and OCZ all rode on the same short bus.

With all the problems i have seen and heard of with EZCD, it looks like poor programming skills.

i found 2 more articles complaining about EZ CD when i was searching thru M$ last night

but i figured there was no need to copy them into the forum considering everything else we've seen from Roxio
