Gidday,
First time on this forum and yep I am an idiot...please tell me why when I try to run NTOSKRNL.EXE I get an error message sayin application cannot be run in WIN32 mode??

Install SP1. I had someone E-mail me and say that without SP1 - "ntoskrnl.exe is not a valid win32 application"

ok, let me get this straight. does the image have to be a bmp or can it be a gif or jpg?

how do you get the bar at the bottom that shows logon progress and how do you change the words that are displayed on it?

has anyone tried this on winXP beta2?

Dudes, dudes! YOU DON'T NEED TO TURN WFP OFF... However, you need to put the modded NTOSKRNL.EXE in the following order, in the order of:

WINNT\Driver Cache
WINNT\System32\dllcache
WINNT\System32

I bet you guys missed the first one, eh? That's the reason why the old file comes back like a ghost. I never turn WFP off.

By the way, I made my own bootscreen featuring the world's first Athlon portable. You can read about it at my site (http://wdsoftware.lab.cc) if you've missed it. Very Happy It was linked to [H]ard|OCP.

You can also change the Win2K logon screen logo by editing the MSGINA.DLL file located in the winnt/system32 directory.
