I just got it tonight. A T-Bird 1GHz 'C' chip(266fsb). It isn't an AXIA chip, but it is a AXHA. I currently have it running at 1.2GHz at 1.57v. It will run 1GHz as low as 1.42v. Amazing. Right now with it at 1.2GHz, my full load temps are right around 40C. I'll have to see how high I can get this puppy tonight. WOOT!!!!

Great to see experimentation with over-clocking & to see which CPU has been matched to what.
This case you don't mention your MB what did you choose?
Also recently I setup conservatively a: P3/1Gig/256Ram/IntelD815EEA but found performance fairly ordinary.
I have Sisoft Sandra 2001 Pro installed & wonder if we might compare notes on SiSoft's benchmark speed tests which would introduce some measured perspective into this discussion.
Any thoughts on this?
Also I note that my machine is still dedicated to single taskink when for example it tries to establish an internet connection (which somethimes takes ages) & in the meantime this "fast" machine can do nothing else.
I think this is a hell of a limitation & wonder if anyone knows how to improve.
Regards to all, |

I have an MSI K7T Turbo-R motherboard with the KT133A chipset. My frontside bus is currently at 133/266 with a multiplier of 9.5. I haven't really had a chance to play much since my initial overclock attempt(Playing too much Dues Ex!). I have Sisoft 2001SE installed on my system, and will run it when I get home this evening. I will post the marks here when I have them.

Thanks guys. All isn't happy here in the north land. My Via chipset and my ATI Radeon don't really like to play together. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I am about 1000 3dMark2001 points behind everyone else with a similar system. I don't even think Win2K can be responsible for that many points. All my games run okay though, so I don't really care. I love seeing the SETI times creeping back towards the 6 hour mark. I'm not quite there, but if I overclock this puppy a little more, maybe.

Thanks Fido, that was a pretty interesting read. I wasn't aware installation order was such a big deal. Perhaps in the near future it will be reformat time, again.

My son got a 1.2[AXIA] this last weekend and it smokes I do have to say. He is dual booting (98-2K) and doesn't seem to have any probs as of yet. He got the Abit KT7A-raid MB and 1 new IBM 30 gig drive. I said 1 drive? He didn't have enough dough to get two. HEHEHE.. In about 2 months he should have enough to get another.. I can't wait.. I just might have to do another up due to I can't stand that he's faster than I am... [XX(]

Hay Artstar, you tried OC'ing that thing yet. From the sounds of things just about every AXIA will give you at least 1.33 if not more. I like more!!
